The Fairfax County Police Department has announced that Major Hudson Bull, Commander of the department’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC), has been appointed to the National Real Time Crime Center Association (NRTCCA) Board of Directors as its new Business Director.
The NRTCCA brings together law enforcement agencies, technology experts, and public safety leaders across the country to advance the use of real-time data and emerging technologies in policing. The association fosters collaboration among agencies managing Real Time Crime Centers, sharing best practices and supporting innovation to strengthen proactive policing strategies nationwide. As Business Director, Major Bull will help develop and establish standards for technology used in real-time crime centers across the country.
Major Bull has led the RTCC since its establishment in April 2024, when it became the first Real Time Crime Center in Northern Virginia. Under his command, the center has grown into a 24/7 operation supporting officers, detectives, and investigators across all of Fairfax County’s more than one million residents. Notable expansions under his leadership include the launch of a Drone as First Responder (DFR) program and enhanced coordination with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.
The RTCC’s work directly supports the Crime Solvers program. In 2025 alone, the center processed a record 643 Crime Solvers tips and distributed more than $16,000 in community rewards to residents whose information helped bring criminals to justice.
Major Bull joined FCPD in 2013 following service with the United States Marine Corps and the United States Secret Service. In 2024, he was honored as one of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) “40 Under 40” award recipients, recognizing law enforcement professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and innovation in public safety.
Crime Solvers of Fairfax County congratulates Major Bull on this well-deserved appointment. His leadership has been central to the RTCC’s growth and to the record results the Crime Solvers program achieved in 2025.
